The making of our Palm Towels
raditional Hand Block Printing has been practised in India for centuries, with knowledge and techniques passed down through generations of skilled printing families.
Within the block printing communities of Rajasthan, artisans continue to work using age-old methods shaped by rhythm, experience, and human touch.
The process begins with intricately hand-carved wooden blocks, each pattern beautifully brought to life upon the fabric. Colours are mixed by hand and memory, while layers of print are placed by eye and experience — creating the depth, character, and wonderfully imperfect detail that only true hand block printing can bring.
Once printed, the fabric is washed, dried beneath the sun, and checked — revealing a textile shaped by time, skill, and tradition.
No two pieces are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in colour, print placement, and texture are all part of the story — a reflection of the human hands behind the process, and the enduring beauty of traditional hand block printing.
Each Palm Towel carries its own unique character — shaped by time, tradition, and human touch.
Made slowly. Printed by hand.
