Hand block printed using the traditional Ajrakh technique, the Satin Saanvi Pants are cut from beautifully fluid modal satin made from beechwood-derived cellulose. With a relaxed culotte leg, silky outer surface and comfortable cotton-like feel against the skin, they move with a softness all their own.

The Satin Saanvi Pants bring together the intricate beauty of traditional Ajrakh hand block printing with the soft movement and gentle lustre of modal satin.

Woven from plant-derived modal made from beechwood cellulose, the fabric feels silky on the outside and comfortably cotton-like against the skin. The fluidity of the satin gives the Ajrakh print an almost ethereal quality, shifting beautifully as the cloth moves.

Relaxed through the leg, they have a natural ease that allows the cloth to find its own rhythm. A broad elasticised waistband, adjustable drawstring and generous pockets make them as practical as they are beautiful.

Beautiful on their own, and equally at home as part of the Satin Saanvi Set, where the flowing shirt and trousers come together in a wash of colour, print and movement.

The Textile

100% MODAL SATIN

A beautifully fluid, plant-derived textile made from regenerated beechwood cellulose and woven with a satin finish. Soft and silky on the surface, with a breathable, cotton-like feel against the skin, Modal Satin has a gentle lustre and beautiful drape that brings colour and print to life.
Light, durable and wonderfully fluid, it moves with an almost ethereal quality while retaining the comfort and breathability that makes it beautiful to wear.

The Process

AJRAKH HAND BLOCK PRINTED

The cloth is hand block printed using the centuries-old Ajrakh tradition, where intricately carved wooden blocks are carefully aligned and printed by hand to build layers of pattern and colour.
On fluid Modal Satin, the ancient art takes on another dimension — the intricate Ajrakh prints moving with the gentle lustre and beautiful drape of the cloth. The subtle variations left by the hand of the maker are part of what makes every piece unique.

Garment Care

Handmade garments need extra loving care. Gently hand wash in COLD water using a very small amount of natural detergent. Do not soak or leave wet in a laundry basket. Do not place in a dryer. Drape or hang in the shade to dry.

We recommend washing Ajrakh hand blocked printed pieces separately in cold salty water several times to help release any excess dye.

Lovingly handmade in India, slight variations in colour are part of the unique beauty of each garment.

Clearance sale items: are final sale and not eligible for a return, unless deemed faulty.

Returns must be lodged within 14 days of delivery via our Returns Portal.
Garments must be returned unworn, unwashed, with tags attached, and folded inside the recycled vintage sari carry bag provided.
