The Satin Saanvi brings together a beautifully relaxed shirt and full-length trousers, each hand block printed using the centuries-old Ajrakh technique.

Woven from plant-derived modal made from beechwood cellulose, this beautiful satin has a character all of its own — soft and silky on the outside, with a comfortable cotton-like feel against the skin. Fluid and wonderfully light in movement, it gives the intricate Ajrakh prints an almost ethereal quality as the cloth drapes and moves.

The shirt has an easy, generous shape that feels relaxed without overwhelming the body. Finished with a classic collar and handcrafted satin covered buttons, the fluid satin brings another dimension to its simple silhouette.

The trousers feature a broad elasticised waistband, adjustable drawstring and generous pockets that make them as practical as they are beautiful. Relaxed through the leg, the satin falls with a soft, flowing drape, allowing the cloth to find its own rhythm.

The Textile

100% MODAL SATIN

A beautifully fluid, plant-derived textile made from regenerated beechwood cellulose and woven with a satin finish. Soft and silky on the surface, with a breathable, cotton-like feel against the skin, Modal Satin has a gentle lustre and beautiful drape that brings colour and print to life.
Light, durable and wonderfully fluid, it moves with an almost ethereal quality while retaining the comfort and breathability that makes it beautiful to wear.

The Process

AJRAKH HAND BLOCK PRINTED

The cloth is hand block printed using the centuries-old Ajrakh tradition, where intricately carved wooden blocks are carefully aligned and printed by hand to build layers of pattern and colour.
On fluid Modal Satin, the ancient art takes on another dimension — the intricate Ajrakh prints moving with the gentle lustre and beautiful drape of the cloth. The subtle variations left by the hand of the maker are part of what makes every piece unique.

Handmade garments need extra loving care. Gently hand wash in COLD water using a very small amount of natural detergent. Do not soak or leave wet in a laundry basket. Do not place in a dryer. Drape or hang in the shade to dry.

We recommend washing Indigo pieces separately in cold salty water several times to help release any excess dye.
