The Textile

Hand Loomed Organic Kala Cotton
Kala cotton is one of India's oldest indigenous cotton varieties, traditionally grown using rain-fed farming methods and requiring minimal intervention.

The cotton yarns are naturally dyed before being hand loomed by skilled artisans, creating beautifully textured cloth rich in character and depth.

Naturally breathable and rich in substance, Kala cotton is celebrated for its durability, beautiful texture, and the individuality that only handwoven cloth can bring.

Naturally dyed cotton yarns are hand loomed into beautifully textured cloth before being carefully assembled and finished with decorative hand stitching, borders, and artisan detailing.

Rich in texture, character, and individuality, these pieces celebrate the beauty of handmade textiles and generations of weaving knowledge. The hand-finished details bring depth, personality, and the visible touch of the maker to every garment.

Measurements are shown in centimetres (cm) and taken with the garment laid flat. They refer to the garment itself, not your body.

Fit may vary between styles, with some designed for a relaxed fit and others more shaped through the bust, waist, or hips.

As most SoulSong garments are made from natural cotton with minimal stretch, we recommend allowing room for ease and movement when selecting your size.

Garment Care

Please treat me gently, as I'm a special care garment

Our Woven Earth garments require gentle care, as they feature natural dyes, hand loomed cloth, hand stitching, and many handmade details and embellishments.

We recommend spot clean | steam | air | dry clean.

If washing is required, gently hand wash Indigo pieces separately in cold salty water several times to help release any excess dye. Do not soak. Gently reshape and drape over a towel to dry immediately.

We understand that purchasing online can sometimes be difficult, and occasionally a garment may not feel quite right once it arrives.

Full priced items: can be returned for a refund or credit note. Full priced Vintage garments can be returned for a credit note only.

Full priced items purchased during a promotion: can be returned for a credit note only.

Clearance sale items: are final sale and not eligible for a return, unless deemed faulty.

Returns must be lodged within 14 days of delivery via our Returns Portal.
Garments must be returned unworn, unwashed, with tags attached, and folded inside the recycled vintage sari carry bag provided.
