Hand block printed using the traditional Ajrakh technique, the Satin Saanvi Shirt is cut from beautifully fluid modal satin made from beechwood-derived cellulose. Silky to the touch with a comfortable cotton-like feel against the skin, it has an easy, generous shape and a beautiful sense of movement. Wear it on its own, or as part of the Satin Saanvi Set, where the full look comes together.

The Satin Saanvi Shirt brings the centuries-old art of Ajrakh hand block printing to the beautiful fluidity of modal satin.

Woven from plant-derived modal made from beechwood cellulose, the fabric is soft and silky on the outside, with a comfortable cotton-like feel against the skin. Its gentle lustre and flowing drape bring another dimension to the Ajrakh print, allowing the pattern to shift and move with the cloth.

Cut with an easy, generous shape that feels relaxed without overwhelming the body, it's finished with a classic collar and handcrafted satin covered buttons.

Beautiful on its own, and equally at home as part of the Satin Saanvi Set, where the fluidity of both pieces really comes to life.

The Textile

100% MODAL SATIN

A beautifully fluid, plant-derived textile made from regenerated beechwood cellulose and woven with a satin finish. Soft and silky on the surface, with a breathable, cotton-like feel against the skin, Modal Satin has a gentle lustre and beautiful drape that brings colour and print to life.
Light, durable and wonderfully fluid, it moves with an almost ethereal quality while retaining the comfort and breathability that makes it beautiful to wear.

The Process

AJRAKH HAND BLOCK PRINTED

The cloth is hand block printed using the centuries-old Ajrakh tradition, where intricately carved wooden blocks are carefully aligned and printed by hand to build layers of pattern and colour.
On fluid Modal Satin, the ancient art takes on another dimension — the intricate Ajrakh prints moving with the gentle lustre and beautiful drape of the cloth. The subtle variations left by the hand of the maker are part of what makes every piece unique.

Garment Care

Handmade garments need extra loving care. Gently hand wash in COLD water using a very small amount of natural detergent. Do not soak or leave wet in a laundry basket. Do not place in a dryer. Drape or hang in the shade to dry.

We recommend washing Indigo pieces separately in cold salty water several times to help release any excess dye.

Lovingly handmade in India, slight variations in colour are part of the unique beauty of each garment.

Full priced items: can be returned for a refund or credit note. Full priced Vintage garments can be returned for a credit note only.

Clearance sale items: are final sale and not eligible for a return, unless deemed faulty.

Returns must be lodged within 14 days of delivery via our Returns Portal.
Garments must be returned unworn, unwashed, with tags attached, and folded inside the recycled vintage sari carry bag provided.
